The West Wing is an American serial political drama television series created by Aaron Sorkin that was originally broadcast on NBC from September 22, 1999, to May 14, 2006. The series is set primarily in the West Wing of the White House, where the Oval Office and offices of presidential senior staff are located, during the fictional Democratic administration of Josiah Bartlet (played by Martin Sheen).
The character Josh Lyman is an avid New York Mets fan, once trying to finish all of his work quickly in order to travel to a Mets intrasquad spring training game in Port St. Lucie, Florida. This happened in the episode "The Stackhouse Filibuster".
Josh being a Mets fan was pointed out by Yonah Sudwerts who refers to Josh telling Amy in "We Killed Yamamoto" that among the things that were going to make the night great was "a nationally televised Mets game." In the "The Red Mass" Amy says "Maybe a little longer because the Mets lost last night, and he'll need to focus," which points out how hard Josh takes it when the Mets lose and proves that he is an avid fan.
