The In-Laws is a 1979 American action-comedy film starring Alan Arkin and Peter Falk, written by Andrew Bergman and directed by Arthur Hiller. The film was remade in 2003, with Michael Douglas, Albert Brooks and Candice Bergen.

In the beginning of the film when the U.S. Treasury Department van is stolen, the leader of the robbers visits Vince (Peter Falk) on the roof of the building across the street. He sees Vince reading the newspaper and says to the gang leader, " Gee, I can't believe this trade. What the hell do the Mets need another pitcher for? All they got is pitching."
