Nicholas Reginald Evans (born January 30, 1986) is a Major League Baseball infielder/outfielder who is a free agent.

2004-2007[]

He was drafted in the 5th round in the 2004 draft. He played in the minor since then.

2008[]

Evans made his major league debut on May 24. He hit his first homerun on August 31.

2009[]

On August 25 he was called up along with Pat Misch when former closer Billy Wagner was traded to the Boston Red Sox.

On July 9 the Mets called up Evans and send down Ryota Igarashi.

On July 16 the Mets called up Justin Turner and sent down Evans to the Buffalo Bisons.

He was called back up in the Mets Smack 18 on the Board and also part of the September Callups.

2011[]

On May 18 he was called up to the Mets to replace David Wright who was placed on the DL.

On June 9 he was DFA'd and on June 10 he was replaced by Lucas Duda.

He returned to the club with a hamstring injury to Jose Reyes on July 7. He was sent down on July 22 with the return of David Wright.

On August 5 he was brought back up as the club sent down Mike Nickeas.

On August 7 he played 1B and 3B in Murphing Out in the Tomato Crushed Game.

After the season ended he was sent to the minors on November 11 along with Jason Pridie. Then Evans,Pridie and Taylor Buchholz declared free-agency on November 14.
