Michael James Nickeas (born February 13, 1983 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) is a Major League Baseball catcher for the Toronto Blue Jays.

2006-2009Edit

He was traded to the Mets from the Texas Rangers for Victor Diaz on August 30,2006. During the times from 2007-2009 he played in the minors since then.

2010Edit

He was called up to join the Mets after John Maine was placed on the 60-day DL on September 2.

He made his major league debut on September 4 which is the same day Mets rookie pitcher Jenrry Mejia made his debut as a starter at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs. For the recap see Mejia's First Start.

On September 29 he got his first two Major League hits against the Milwaukee Brewers at Citi Field.

2011Edit

He hit his first major league homerun on April 21 off pitcher for the Houston Astros J.A. Happ. He was sent to the minors as Ronny Paulino came to the Mets on the day the Mets beat the Philadelphia Phillies as the Mets win on Bin Laden's Death.

On July 28 after Carlos Beltran was traded to the San Francisco Giants he was brought back up to the club.

On August 5 he was sent down as they called up Nick Evans. On August 24, he was recalled back up to replace Jon Niese's spot on the roster.

2012Edit

On May 26 he hit his first major league grand slam in the 8th inning in a game against the San Diego Padres. For more see 3 homers slam Padres. On July 25 he was sent down as Rob Johnson took his spot. He then was called back up on September 1 along with Zach Lutz as part of the September Callups.

On November 2 he was out-righted to the minors. But he later became a free agent after refusing the assignment. On November 9 he signed a minor league deal with a invitation to Spring Training.

However on December 17, Nickeas,Josh Thole and R.A. Dickey were traded to the Toronto Blue Jays for John Buck and prospects Travis D’Arnaud, Noah Syndergaard and Wuilmer Becerra.
