The Mets were looking to come take the series after being tied 1-1 after the day before 4 homers by Turner,Bay,Thole gave the mets an 11-7 win. The Mets yet again fall back 9 games back in the NL Wild Card behind the Braves.
But things didn't go to well for the Mets as Jose Reyes and Daniel Murphy were taken out of the game with injuries. Jose Constanza was the player who slide into second base safely which made him and Murph collided and that's Murphy was taken out for the year. In response Ruben Tejada and Mike Baxter were called up to take over for Murph and Reyes on August 8,2011. The Mets lost to a score of 6-5.
