Jenrry Manuel Mejía (born October 11, 1989) is a Major League Baseball starting/relief pitcher for the New York Mets.

He began his professional career in 2007. From 07-2009 he played in the minors since then.

Mejia made his major league debut on April 7, against the Marlins. He gave up three hits and a run but struck out Marlins pitcher Ricky Nolasco for his first career strike out. He got Marlins star Hanley Ramirez to ground out to end the inning.
Mejia is one the candidates for Oliver Perez's spot in the rotation. He will be facing these guys for the spot
It was Dickey who was chosen.
On June 20, Mejia was sent down to the minors to become a starter and Bobby Parnell took his spot in the Mets Bullpen. Right now he is with the Binghamton Mets.
He made first major league start at Wrigley Field on September 4 and Mike Nickeas made his debut as he will be catching Mejia in his first start in the majors. To see the full recap of his start check Mejia's First Start.
Mejia got his first major league hit off Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay on 0-1 count into right field on September 10.
2011[]
For the 2011 season Mejia was setn down to Buffalo as he spend the entire season with the Bisons.
2012[]
Mejia was allowed back to the ball club after getting hurt in the minors as he returned to become a pitcher for the Mets. He kept flip-flopping from the rotation and bullpen but during the summer he was kept in the rotation. He joined the Mets on September 4 as part of the September Callups. On September 24 he got his first MLB win against the Pittsburgh Pirates at home as he pitched 5 innings as he gave up 4 hits, 2 walks with 4 strikeouts but didn't allow any runs.
2013[]
Mejia started the season on the DL coming out of spring training. Mejia came off the DL and made his first start of the season on July 26 against the Washington Nationals on the road in game 1 of the doubleheader. He pitched 7 scoreless innings, giving up 7 hits, striking out 7, and no walks for his first win of the season. To make room for him on the 25-man roster Kirk Nieuwenhuis was optioned down on July 27.
