George Martin Weiss (June 23, 1895 – August 13, 1972) was an American baseball executive. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1971.
New York Mets[]
Weiss served as the first General Manager/President in the history of the New York Mets from 1962-1966. He hired his friend Casey Stengel to manager the team but the Mets under Weiss tenure as GM never made it out of last place. He was replaced by Bing Devine as GM and President.
