Eisler Liván Hernández Carrera (Spanish pronunciation: [liˈβan erˈnandeθ]; born February 20, 1975, in Villa Clara,Cuba) is a starting pitcher in Major League Baseball for the Washington Nationals. He is the half-brother of pitcher Orlando "El Duque" Hernández.

2009[]

He played with the Mets only for 2009. But later that year as the Mets were struggling Hernandez was released as he signed back to his former team the Washington Nationals so the Mets could make some room for Billy Wagner who was on the DL since 2008.

He signed a minor league deal with the New York Mets on February 14. He was the 5th starter in the rotation. He was the first pitcher in Citi Field history to throw a complete game against the Nats in a 6-1 win. on May 29. He was having a hard time in the months of July and August. He was released on August 20 he was released by the club.
