Karl-Smolarz

Karl Smolarz is the current Vice President, Facilities for the New York Mets. Smolarz joined Sterling Equities in 2002 as Vice President of Facilities and Sterling's Project Development Group. His responsibilities include oversight and coordination on a variety of capital improvement projects. His is currently spearheading a $30 million renovation of the Devonshire, a 130 unit high rise condominium project in Manhattan.

Similarly, Mr. Smolarz is overseeing the $16 million renovation of the 91 unit condominium project at 845 West End Avenue in Manhattan. He also recently completed a ground up development of the 37 acre New York Mets training facility (including on-site residences and administrative offices throughout the seven building campus) in the Dominican Republic.

Possessing extensive operational background, Mr. Smolarz has managed several major commercial properties and sports facilities in New York, Connecticut, Florida and elsewhere. His most recent commercial project involved the final construction and opening of Bear Stearn's 1.4 million square foot corporate headquarters on Madison Avenue in Manhattan. He holds a B.A. degree from State University of New York at Albany.
