Darryl Eugene Strawberry (born March 12, 1962) is a former American baseball player who is well-known both for his play on the field and for his controversial behavior off of it. Throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, Strawberry was one of the most feared sluggers in the game, known for his prodigious home runs and his intimidating presence in the batter's box with his 6-foot-6 frame and his long, looping swing that elicited comparisons to Ted Williams.

He was the Mets anchor for Mets Pre-Game Live and Mets Post-Game Live from '07-'09. He has also appeared on Mets Hot Stove. He has even appeared on The Baseball Show and on The Good Doctor.

1986 Edit

Straw began his MLB Career with the Mets on May 6,1983. His hitting lead to the Mets 1986 World Series and he had alot of homeruns with the Mets. He played for the Mets from 1983 to 1990.

Hall Of Fame Edit

On August 1, Straw, Dwight Gooden,Frank Cashen,Davey Johnson were inducted into New York Mets Hall of Fame.
